Terminal 2 Heathrow Airport, permanent display
Richard Wilson’s Slipstream was unveiled this week at Heathrow’s Terminal 2. Inspired by the manoeuvres of stunt planes, the gleaming 80 metre long sculpture zooms through the atrium and captures the exhilaration of flight.

Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, 26 April – 24 August 2014
Since moving to the north Norfolk coast in 2009, John Virtue has produced a body of turbulent monochrome seascapes. Drawing from both Turner and American Expressionism, the paintings, drawings, and sketchbooks on view at the Sainsbury Centre invite viewers to share in Virtue’s awe of nature.

Dairy Arts Centre, 25 April – 27 July 2014
Dairy Arts Centre presents a diverse selection of recent paintings by Julian Schnabel, the American artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker who achieved fame in the 1980s for controversial works such as his broken crockery paintings. The show is Schnabel’s first major UK exhibition in 15 years.

Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, 30 April – 29 June 2014
Fellini fans should visit the Estorick Collection’s exuberant new exhibition of photographs from the archive of photojournalist Marcello Gepetti. Including images from the set of La Dolce Vita, the show immerses viewers in the glamour of Italian filmmaking during the 1950s and 60s.

Pace London, 25 April – 31 May 2014
Seven years after his Three Legged Buddha sculpture for the Royal Academy courtyard, Zhang Huan returns to Burlington House with a new exhibition of paintings at Pace London. Though these works appear abstract from a distance, their hallucinatory colours and skull imagery represent Huan’s continued exploration of Buddhist mysticism.
